Abortion is a healty choice...

I think that abortion should not be made illegal. Abortions are made usually on good judgment, and benefit both the child and parents. The idea of making abortion illegal seems highly discriminating, who are we to say if the child should live or die the mother must make the decision not the law. 54 countries allow abortion, which is about 61 percent of the world population. 97 countries, about 39 percent of the population, have abortion laws that make it illegal according to the pro-abortion Center for Reproductive Law and Policy in New York. Today abortions are made for logical reasons not just because someone doesn’t use birth control. If the parents feel they are not able to support a child at this time then the abortion should be made, we do not need to put people in poverty just because they are forced to have a child. Also, mistakes do happen even when a condom is used, people should not have to give birth if they had not intended to. Giving birth may also lead to the woman providing for the child by herself because the man had no intention of sharing a child. Many parents that experience unplanned pregnancy are not ready for a child and usually have to end up putting their child in a foster home or orphanage to give the child the best chance. Pregnancy by rape is very rare but not unheard of, if anything this abortion should be legalized because the man/woman has no choice in taking part in the pregnancy.
Ultimately parents should make the decision to whether abortion is necessary, and abortion should be viewed as the healthy alternative to giving birth.

Shortcut

“See ya sucker!” tom said taking his shortcut to the finish line.

Joel got up covered in mud and continued on the path “Now I’ll never catch him”.

But as he finished Tom could not be seen. Apparently Tom never finished the race.

Tom was found 3 days later 10 km off the race path.

Picture this.....

your vision is blurred by the white flakes that topple endlessly from the dark sky above. The cold air nips at your face and fingers, but the rest of your body feels warm and is anxious with sweat. Smacking your lips together your are able to feel how chapped you lips are and the blood that you spilt the last time a similar situation went wrong. You ignore the sensation, this is no time to back out.Board strapped to your feet you feel confident in your abilities, another day another challenge this is what you live for. Someone starts to shout out numbers counting down from "five". "Four" start your approach. "Three" you tuck and and gain speed as your heart rate increases. "Two" you lock your eyes on your blue target not letting your focus waver. "One" you let all rational thought dwindle away as you take flight . Locked in your body is kept ridged, one small spazm here and it could cost you in bones and blood. Your trip is over quickly as it always is you start the 20 foot decent to earth spinning all the while. The landing pad seems miniscule as you approach it, "fooop" you land on the flat temporarily blinded by the snow that arises from under you. Bent knees and butt almost touching the ground, you taste sweet success as you ride away another day.

The connection I have made between "Angels and Demons" and "Dover Beach" is that the both demonstrate periods of loss of religious faith in the modern world. In "Dover Beach" The Aegean Sea is described as "The Sea of Faith". In the past the tide "Was once, too, at the full, and round the earth's shore", giving faith in god to everyone. Now "Its melancholy, long, withdrawing roar, retreating, to the breath of the night of the wind, down the vast edges drear and naked shingles of the world", as the tide goes down so does the faith that people have. This is comparable to the modern conclave in "Angels and Demons". In the past conclave had been a popular media event around the world, but now very few media stations are covering the story. The lack of media exposure at conclave is a result of the depleting amount of people that go to church and are deeply involved in religion.

Without faith the earth would become "a darkilng plain Swept with confused alarms of struggle and flight, where ignorant armies clash by night". Just like in "Angels and Demons" faith is the only thing that seems to keep our world together. Without faith science would take over our world and no moral value would exist. When the camerlengo has a revelation about where the antimatter is located, he askes for the faith of everyone around him to belive that he has not gone crazy. When he is able to dispose of the antimatter safetly he saves the church and in away the faith of the world by proving that one can talk to god even in todays world.

Clone Wars

What if we were able to fully clone humans? I think that if we were able to clone humans, we would ignore their rights as normal citizens and make them our slaves. If clones were created we would have no choice but to do all the lower class jobs that no one else wants to do. clones could be conditioned as a child for their job, for example for physical labor jobs (such as construction, military soldier, or coal miner) they would wear body suits that have wights on them as kids so they are stronger than average human beings. Also cloning humans would create breakthroughs in medical science. Imagine if you had to get akidney transplat and you were able to get one easily due to a clone donar. People would be able to live a lot longer, but ethically speaking a lot shorter beacause your healthy clone would die instead of you. Scientists would no longer need to use dummies as test subjects, clones would be used instead, risking their lives to save yours.

This all raises the question of if we created clones simply to fufill our lifes have clones live fruitlessly, what would be the value of a human life be? Just beacause you were born from a woman does that give you more right to be alive than a clone? If commiting murder by killing a "person" gets you in jail, slaughtering clones also have the same result. If we can't create clones without a purpose other than for sacrifice for our saftey there is no point in making them. However I do think cloning organs or vital fluids in the human body is a fonominal idea, beacause you are only creating a part of the body that dosent really live until it has a host. This eliminates shamlessly killing sombody, while still helping you rid yourself of the disease, disorder, or whatever fatal illness you have obtained

In conclusion I think cloning is a good thing, but not to the extent of creating human life.

St. Peter's Basilica is on of the holiest sites in Christendom. Taking over 100 years to build it is also one of the largest churches ever built.

the outside Archetecture of the basilica was created by many well know artists and engineers. The building contains a colonade (a long sequence of columns) with over 140 statues of saints on top of it, sculpted by various artists. The dome of St. Peter's was designed by Michealangelo, which not a hemisphere but a parabola to withstand the wieght of the dome. " The Door of Death" is located on the far left of the Bascilica, named not only for its frequent use during funerals but for the story it depicts. On the door the death of Jesus, Mary, Josheph, Abel, and some of the first popes are sculpted into the doors. The "Holy Door" is on the North side of the building and is used for events of celebration such as Jubilee years.

The inside of the bacilica is known for its high ceilings and use of every bit of space to express the finests art of the Renaissance. the Nave has contains a bronze statue of St. Peter as you enter, the statues " foot is smoothed down due to centuries of pilgrims' caresses". Bernini's Baldacchino is a large anopy that protect the papal alter and St. Peter's holy relics. The Crypt holds fragments of old churches built on the site and the tombs of many of the old popes.

Review

The Movie "The Dark Night" is the most thrilling action movies of the year, boasting some of the best actors and special effects. Although it has a running time of nearly 3 hours it is action the whole way through. Heath Ledger plays a very convincing joker, and almost makes it seem like this role could have very well be the thing that did him in. The plot is very fast paced with a lot of car chases and fight scenes, but also has slower more mystery like parts. The camera angles and constant switching of characters make some scenes hard to follow, but this should be expected in an action movie. Also some of the actors mumble when they speak which also makes it hard to hear important parts even if you are listening intensely. Twists in the plot keep you guessing the whole way through. The special effects put in to the movie are very well done and and make the movie that much better. Overall I give this movie a 9 out of 10 because the length of the movie is to long, but the acting jobs, plot, and special effects keep you going.

"The Lottery" and " The Perils of Indiference" both demonstrate and disscuss that terrible violence and inhumanity can be demonstrated by the most "ordinary" citizens.

In "The Lottery" the people of a humble village choose at random a person to stone. They choose by making everyone choose a piece of paper from an old black box and the person that draws the one with the black spot has to draw again along with the rest of their family. After the second drawing the one family member with the spot gets stoned . When Mr.Hutchinsen draws the black spot his wife Tessie exclaims "You didn't give him enough time to take the paper he wanted. I saw you. It wasn't fair.". Ignoring her pleas the villagers force the Hutchinsens to all Draw for the second time. "It's Tessie" Mr. Summers Said and his voice was hushed "Show us her paper Bill", the villagers gathered quickly in a circle around her and started to select stones from a pile " and someone gave little Davy Hutchinson a few pebbles". As the Villagers approached Mrs. "Hutchinson screamed "It isn't fair, it isn't right." and then they were upon her.

In the speech "The Perils of Indifference" Elie Wiesel talks about how the world is very indifferent. Wiesel has endured the Holocaust himself and describes how not only The Nazi's that discriminated on the Jewish people, but when everyone else was turning a blind eye the were just as discriminant. This act of in difference is what causes world problems to escalate. As in "the Lottery" no one seems to be interested in changing this so the indifference that we have still remains .

The TOP THRRRREEE33333

In the world of snowboarding it's hard to chose a top three because everyone is different, and bring there own style to the slopes. Whether it be winning at the X-games or making the video part of the year every snowboarder has something different to the table that everyone can appreciate. In any case here are my top 3 greatest snowboarders in no specific order, of 2009.

1) Travis Rice

Travis Rice has pretty much revolutionised the film industry for snowboarding with his new video "That's It That's All". The movie is made over the past three seasons and feature Travis rice as the main rider with tiny guest appearances of other riders like Mark Landvik, Danny Kass, and Jeremy Jones. This is one of the only videos to date that is only focused on one person through out the video. Also Travis has recently won gold at X-games for the big air competition and continues to amaze people with massive backcounty acrobatics.

2) Shaun White

Quite possibly the most famous name in snowboarding, the Burton rider has risen to the top of the podium more than anyone else in the X-games. With several golds under his belt for superpipe and slopestyle it seems that Shaun white is the most dominant competition rider to date with no signs of slowing down soon.

3)Eero Ettala

Eero Ettala is one of the most technical riders coming out of Finland. Eero has been shredding since the age of 11 and is now entering his sixth season as a pro. The style that Eero brings to snowboarding is truly unmatched, and Eero’s bag of tricks runs deep from boned out 1080s over 70-foot gap jumps in the backcountry to lipsliding a 30 set staircase handrail in a night session. He also has placed well in competitions like the Toyota big air in japan and the Burton open in Europe, along with several solid video parts for MDP.

If I had a superpower It would be to have the ability to change the weather. In winter I would make it snow everyday so I could go snowboarding whenever I pleased. As soon as spring comes I would only make it rain at night so I wouldn't be stuck inside during the day. In summer It would be clear blue skies and over 30 degrees. Fall would pretty much be the same as spring except I would make it windier to get rid of all the leaves on the ground.

If I had to confront enemies with my super power I would make a thunder storm and zap them with bolts of lightning, and make tornados to wing them off to somwhere else. The one weakness I would have against most enimies would be that I couldn't use my superpower inside of anywhere to my advantage beacause I can't make the weather change indoors. This would be a drawback It if Had to contain a bank robbery, or deal with a hostage situation.
